For the longest time, I hesitated to sell. (Way longer than I should have)
Not because I didn’t believe in what I had to offer.
But because I thought selling was scammy online.
I’d post content.
I’d build momentum.
Then I'd skip the sales part.
What would people think?
Would I sound scammy?
Would it kill the trust?
Turns out, the exact opposite is true.
The best creators, founders, and builders I follow all have one thing in common: They know how to make offers helpful.
Not in a scammy way.
Not with fake scarcity.
But with clarity.
And clarity is what people are craving.
Selling Is Just an Invitation
Here’s the belief shift that changed everything for me:
Selling isn’t about pressure. It’s about helping.
When you make a clear offer, you’re not begging for attention. You’re making it easier for someone to get the help they’ve been looking for.
If you’re showing up with content but never showing people how you can help them more deeply—you’re doing them a disservice.
Sometimes they dont even know you have the ability to help them.
Some people are already convinced. They just need a door to walk through. Selling opens that door.
Why We Avoid It (And What to Do Instead)
Selling gets avoided because of:
Fear of judgment
Poor past examples
The belief that “value should speak for itself”
But in today’s content-saturated world, value needs a pointer.
Something that says: "If this resonates, here’s what to do next."
Here’s what I started doing:
Clear PS lines on every email (one at the bottom of this one!)
Soft CTAs at the end of strong posts
Offering coaching without fanfare, but with confidence
No pressure.
Just pathways.
The Results? Real.
That small change?
It unlocked real momentum.
One of my highest-performing posts this quarter had a CTA baked into the final paragraph.
It didn’t even feel like a pitch.
But someone replied.
Then another.
Then more.
I booked coaching calls.
I closed new clients.
All from a single line.
The content got them curious.
The offer gave them clarity.
This Isn’t About Hype
I’m not saying you need to sell every day. I’m not saying you need a funnel, tripwire, or launch countdown.
I’m saying this:
If you’re already showing up with value, don’t be afraid to show up with an offer.
You’re doing the work.
You’re building the trust.
Now close the loop.
Let people know how they can work with you.
P.S.
